![]() I’m not mentioning all of the Warlock’s attack skills. Warlocks also enjoy magic weapon skills, Int boosts, TP boosts, and maybe the TP Regen skill from a certain gun. It’s best to give them weapons with high MAtk, which staves have. Warlocks will go last anyway, so it doesn’t even matter if Dance Oracle doesn’t have priority. You see what’s going on here.Īmplifier fits nicely as well. Amplifier boosts Fencer’s Chain damage.Ĭommon Magic is likely triggered by Fencers as well, upping Elemancer damage.ĭance Oracle lowers elemental resistances with an attack of the same type. Alter’s damage is boosted by Chain attacks that hit weaknesses. Warlock’s elemental attacks and Earthspike trigger Chains. The following classes work well with Warlock without any items or other classes butting in. Why the hell would you?! Lowest Int of all races! The entirety of the Warlock class is wasted here. The extra luck is not worth the massive damage decrease. All for a bit better Agility and defences. No other race is best for Warlock than Celestrian. Omnimancer gets all-target spells with slash, stab, and bash that have extra effects. The Elemancer gets all-target elemental spells and TP saving skills. They do have a few supportive moves, but should mostly be used on preparation turns or in an emergency. Warlocks are an offensive class that attacks with elemental attacks. ![]() ![]() V is the best in the series when it comes to gameplay, but the weakest in terms of story.Hello, adventurers! Welcome to this class guide for Warlock! This guide is part of a series done by other EO pros.Ĭheck out the link above for more guides! IV's dungeons are some of the weakest in the series, but it's a very accessible first title in every other regard. If you're willing to try a more traditional Etrian Odyssey (generic characters minimal story), go for IV or V instead. It's worth noting that the story isn't all that great, but it's interesting enough to keep you going the whole way through. It's different from the usual Etrian Odyssey format in that you play as a party of preset characters with established personalities and such, and the story is a major focus. With that in mind, you might enjoy Etrian Odyssey II Untold's story mode. The only game that drags on forever is Nexus, though-the others are very well paced. With a few exceptions, your characters will always come off as blank slates because total character customization is one of the series' core concepts. The mainline titles are very light on story by design. The major NPC interactions are usually pretty shallow, and there's always at least one whose character design is Xenoblade II levels of terrible. However, most of the series will let you down on the first three of your dislikes. With that feedback in mind would any Etrian Odyssey scratch my itch for a dungeon crawling game?īased on your list of likes, any Etrian Odyssey title (except Nexus) should cover all your interests. Or even just traveling to the other side of the map with multiple random encounters wearing down my party to solve a puzzle. Backtracking: Too much of it I don't need to go back through multiple dungeon fighting generic bad guys to find this one item that I haven't even seen yet. to go through and it became a painful slog. Generic non-human player characters: My characters felt like they had no weight or purpose since they were puppets Not enough story: the bits of background lore it kept feeding were good but it was a little too hands off ![]() Character dynamics: The named/voiced characters had very poor and sometimes outright wrong interactions. Varied and interesting locations: I played through everything from a demon infested tower to being shrunk down to ant-sized and getting stuck in a garden making the previous weakest enemy in the game an unstoppable threat. Story: What bits of lore were there were largely good Small Puzzles: I liked the small scale puzzles that made me think a bit or look at an area in a different way Leveling up until a dungeon becomes easy and I can plow through the chumps and fight enemies I had to previously avoid I like the loot aspect I like getting stronger weapons With Laybrinth of Refrain under my belt here's what I liked. ![]()
